The first formal meeting of the Bentley Park Cricket Club took place on 7th September 1953 at an unrecorded venue. Local shopkeeper J.McKinnon was made the Club’s first President, Jack Thomas the Secretary and Dennis Tobin Vice President. A fortnight later, at a meeting held in Mr McKinnon's shop, George Warner successfully moved that the fledgling Club's colours be navy blue. The 'Bentley Blues' had been created!
From small beginnings, the Bentley Cricket Club has gradually progressed to a large club in recent years. It presently fields 5 senior teams in the West Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association (WASTCA). The Club's growth has been equally matched by its on field success, winning eight premierships in the last 6 seasons, and most importantly its inaugural 1st Grade Premiership in 2009, and WASTCA T20 Competition in 2010.
Bentley is one of the best cricket clubs within the City of Canning and continues to provide the local community with a quality sporting venue, promoting the game of cricket.
The Club's administration is based on its Constitution.
